The Los Angeles Clippers are a contender for the NBA Playoffs. During the 2013-14 season, the Clippers have compiled a winning record of 41 wins and 20 losses. In division play, they have won five and lost four; while their overall conference record is 24-11.
Head Coach Doc Rivers has used his point guard strategy to combine with the talent of Chris Paul to give the Pacific Division fans something to cheer about during the 2013-14 season. Blake Griffin, Chris Paul, DeAndre Jordan, HedoTurkoglu, and J.J. Redick are working together to make this season a success. Blake Griffin is leading the team with an average of 24.2 points per game.
Chris Paul is a team player; reading the floor and accurately dishing the ball off to his teammates an average of 11 times per game; he is taking his role as point guard to a successful level. His team continued to play well while he was sidelined with a shoulder separation injury that occurred in Dallas in January. His return to the court after five weeks of riding the pine was a success story as well. On February 9, 2014, the Clippers met the Philadelphia 76-ers, and the win was record-setting. The Clippers defeated their opponent by a 45 point margin, the largest point spread in franchise history. The win was in a large part due to the contagious energy level brought to the floor by point guard Chris Paul.
In January, the Los Angeles Clippers’ outstanding performance against the Los Angeles Lakers demonstrated that the powerhouse club is a contender for the Playoffs. During the first quarter of that game, the Clippers sank 71 percent of their shots. This caliber of play continued into February. The Clippers were able to outscore the Oklahoma City Thunder and come away with a difficult road win to boot. Jamal Crawford’s three-point shots were an integral part of the win. He scored 36 total points to help set up the Clippers’ win. Matt Barnes made his presence known on the court as well; scoring 24 points.
The Clippers have played with heart all season. They only lost four games during the long month of January, and all four losses were on the road. During February, the Clippers lost an additional four games. The Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs invaded the US Airways Center and handed two losses to the home team. The game in Denver was a close one, ending with a score of 116 to 115 at the final buzzer. Miami topped them with a score of 116 points also. The Clippers tossed in 112 points during that match, but it was not enough to put another mark in the win column. The teams that have managed to beat the Clippers have all been top-ranking teams.
There is no doubt that the Clippers are facing a fierce schedule, but their past performances give hope to their fans that they will rise to the occasion and come away with the wins. Watch LA Clippers NBA Live Steam matches online and follow NBA Live passion.
