Egypt’s generals finger Israel

October 18th, 2007 · 11 Comments

Egypt, facing a $200 million cut in US aid, blames Israeli soldiers for cooperating with smugglers bringing arms and military equipment into the Gaza Strip.

An Egyptian document distributed in Congress asserts that Israeli soldiers cooperate with smugglers in allowing arms and military equipment into the Gaza Strip.

The Egyptian document was circulated among congressmen by a group of Egyptian generals visiting Washington for meetings. The document was also given to legislators serving in the House Appropriations Committee. Representative Nita Lowey (D-NY), who chairs the State and Foreign Operations Appropriations Subcommittee was the driving force behind a freezing of $200 million worth of American aid to Egypt for reasons that included Cairo’s refusal to act more forcefully to prevent smuggling. The official reason given for freezing the funds is Egypt’s human rights record.

One of the comments on the cited article claims that ‘israeli bedouins’, serving in the IDF, are probably the ones doing this smuggling. Interesting statement.

    >>>”‘israeli bedouins’, serving in the IDF, are probably the ones doing this smuggling. ”

This might be true. However the weapon is coming from…..Egypt. Smuggled by…..Bedouins.

Far more important issues taking place in the area:

Olmert visiting Putin while Barak visits the Arrow anti-missile battery (the new one)….and there are reports that Iranian who can are leaving the country.

Wasn’t it the Egyptian military that profited most when Nasser kicked Egypt’s Jews into Israel, because they are the ones who seized the Jews’ property for themselves? Why, then, would we not expect these generals to blame their victims rather than expose their dirty laundry for everyone else to see?

Oh, yes… Besides, Egypt blames Jews for drinking human blood, poisoning wells and many more subversive activities.

Alas, I can’t quote here the great Gogol (not to be confused with Google) who minted the template almost two hundred years ago. Unless you read Russian, of course…

Unbelievable. Just two weeks ago the Egyptian army completed the biggest wargames it conducted in years, with the “enemy” being, of course, none other than Israel; now this. Not to mention the tons of weapons Egypt allows Hamas to smuggle into Gaza.

It should go without saying for anyone who is supposedly smart - like Charles - that even if some units in the IDF are allowing or profiting from this smuggling - that the operation originates, profits and is under the thumb of the Egyptian Gov’t…. So why would Charles make a post that finger the Israelis as the culprit here?

The Israelis were running the main crossing there and gave it up as part of an “agreement”….. that Egypt and the UN were “supposed” to supervise….

But of course there is ALLLLWAYS a bigger darker deeper conspiratorial reason and a reason to blame the Zionist State and if not the US of course… The Egyptians or Arabs… they are merely helpless less witty pawns being done in and duped by the super smart powerful Zionazis… and the ZOG US Gov’t…..

Come on get wit da program

I love this headline, CL. First sentence should be “…and Israel loves it.”
