Here’s the full text of the Hamas Ministry of Interior press release put out at about 2:00 p.m. this afternoon about the capture of Army of Islam members connected with the kidnap of Alan Johnston. More on this later.

The Executive Force has arrested some individuals involved in the kidnapping the British journalist Alan Johnston. The Ministry of Interiro (MOI) declares the following:

 

1. These arrests came after the failure of three months of peaceful negotiating attempts to release the abducted journalist.

2. The arrest orders are for the members involved with kidnapping Johnston, no other reasons.

3. The MOI confirms that it won’t spare any effort to end the case of Alan Johnston.

4. The MOI is demanding that the captors, and whoever protects and supports them to surrender. Whoever fails to do so, will be under arrest. We also are calling people to inform us of any information about the captors of the journalist at the phone number: 109.
