Did you know our troops in Iraq shave their legs? This note from a Lieutenant stationed north of Baghdad:

It gets a little bit hot here. After wearing body armor for a few hours our clothes are drenched… There are rumors among the locals here in some parts of the country that we have cold pills we take to keep cool with all of our stuff on. There is no cold pill. A bunch of my guys swear they have the secret. My Squad Leaders all shave their arms and legs and claim its about 10 degrees cooler. I say its questionable but I’m always game for jumping on the bandwagon, especially if it might keep me cool. I set aside my masculinity for a moment and shaved my arms and legs. I’ll be sure and keep you all up to date on how effective it is but so far my big revelation is that shaving your legs is a pain in the ass and exceptionally challenging.

BD — none of your comments have been deleted. I’ve only deleted one comment since i started this blog and that was a comment that I thought jeopardized my safety while I was in Gaza. It wasn’t one of your comments.

“shaving your legs is a pain in the ass” You’re supposed to start lower down than that, I think.

What about using some sort of cream? Maybe the Pentagon should contract Halliburton to do some sort of feasibility study?

How about Nair? Women have been dealing with this problem forever.
